A new partnership between Danako Classics and Airbag & Dashboard Systems Africa is bringing together expertise in classic vehicle restoration, custom automotive projects and specialist safety systems, with the goal of delivering more complete automotive solutions to customers throughout Southern Africa.
Danako Classics has established itself in the restoration and enhancement of classic vehicles, offering services that include vehicle restoration, custom builds, electrical upgrades and interior refurbishment. The company is particularly focused on integrating modern technology and convenience features into older vehicles while preserving their character and appeal.
Complementing these capabilities, Airbag & Dashboard Systems Africa specialises in vehicle safety and interior solutions, including airbag fitment and diagnostics, dashboard restoration, seatbelt systems and interior refurbishment. Together, the two businesses aim to provide customers with a wider range of services under a more coordinated approach.
The partnership was officially showcased at Automechanika 2026, marking the first time both businesses exhibited at the event. According to Basil Muzangwa, owner of Ryno’s Torque Show, the exhibition served as an important platform to introduce the collaboration and engage with automotive professionals from across the region and beyond.
“It was a very positive experience. We met people from different countries and had valuable conversations about restoration, custom projects and vehicle safety systems. It was encouraging to present our local capabilities alongside international companies and see the interest in our work,” says Muzangwa.
Participation in the exhibition also provided an opportunity to increase brand visibility, engage with vehicle owners, workshops, panel beaters and suppliers, and explore potential partnerships throughout the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and other markets.
One of the partnership’s key achievements during 2026 was successfully bringing the two businesses together and presenting their shared vision to the industry. However, educating potential customers about the full scope of their combined services remains an ongoing challenge. Many people are familiar with individual offerings but are often unaware of the extensive capabilities available across restoration, electrical systems, interiors, custom vehicle development and safety solutions.
Looking ahead to 2027, the businesses plan to build on the momentum generated through their collaboration by developing innovative automotive projects and strengthening industry relationships across the SADC region. They also intend to showcase a broader range of their work through the motoring community and Ryno’s Torque Show, the motorsport-focused brand closely associated with Muzangwa.
By combining technical expertise, creativity and a commitment to quality workmanship, Danako Classics and Airbag & Dashboard Systems Africa aim to create a stronger presence in the automotive sector while delivering integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of vehicle owners and businesses alike.
