Volkswagen Group Africa has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Satish Ranchod as Human Resources Director from 1 November 2025.
Ranchod’s 36-year journey with the company began in 1989 as a Graduate Trainee and has since evolved through a variety of leadership roles. His expertise in employee relations, benefits, and governance has earned him recognition as a trusted leader within the organisation. Over the years, he has contributed to several critical committees and represented the company in industry-wide negotiations through the Automobile Manufacturers Employer Organisation.
His academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Information Processing from Rhodes University, complemented by executive training at Ashridge Business School in London. He also holds certifications as a Certified Internal Auditor and Associate Principal Executive Officer with the Council of Retirement Funds South Africa.
Welcoming him to the Board of Management, Volkswagen Group Africa Chairperson Martina Biene said Ranchod’s institutional knowledge and commitment to excellence will ensure the company continues to nurture a culture where people thrive. His appointment underlines Volkswagen’s focus on leadership continuity and employee well-being.
