Mitsubishi Motors in Southern Africa is entering a new era with the appointment of Takalani Bruce Mukhola as Managing Director at Brietta Trading, the authorised distributor of the brand in the region.
His extensive experience across finance, dealership operations and executive management positions him to drive growth and strengthen Mitsubishi’s presence in the market.
With more than two decades in the motor industry, Takalani Bruce has built a career spanning both the commercial and retail sides of the automotive value chain. In his most recent role as Franchise Executive at Motus Holdings Limited, he led the commercial division for global brands including Isuzu, UD Trucks, MAN and Volvo Trucks.
His leadership focused on dealer network optimisation, performance discipline and sustainable profitability. Earlier roles include Chief Financial Officer at Tshwane Rapid Transit, senior positions at Sandown Motor Holdings, and executive finance roles at Imperial Logistics.
He holds an MBA from GIBS at the University of Pretoria and an Honours qualification in Accounting Sciences, and is an active member of SAICA. “My focus will be on ensuring that every product we bring to market, every dealership interaction and every customer experience consistently reflects what the Mitsubishi Motors brand stands for. With disciplined execution and a strong product offering, I believe Mitsubishi Motors can grow its presence and relevance with customers,” he says.
Looking ahead, Takalani Bruce is motivated by the opportunity to expand Mitsubishi’s market share, elevate customer experience and modernise retail and aftersales operations. He highlights the upcoming launch of the Mitsubishi Destinator in the first quarter of 2026 and the relaunch of the Triton in the second quarter as key milestones.
“My aim is simple: to make Mitsubishi Motors the hero, powered by the right products, supported by strong dealers, and enabled by a disciplined, customer-focused organisation,” he concludes.
