
BASF’s premium refinish brand, Glasurit, has announced a landmark technical partnership with SVR Toyota Gazoo Racing. The agreement, finalised on 3 December at SVR’s cutting-edge headquarters in Kyalami, signals a shared commitment to innovation and excellence in automotive finishing.
Initially approached as a supplier, BASF soon recognised the potential for a deeper collaboration. SVR’s demand for uncompromising paint quality and durability for its rally vehicles made Glasurit—a leader in advanced coatings technology—the ideal partner.


The alliance aims to merge Glasurit’s expertise in paint technology with the resilience and thrill of motorsport. Rally racing, known for its extreme conditions, provides the perfect stage to showcase Glasurit’s high-performance products. Together, the two organisations intend to set new standards in refinishing excellence.
Under the agreement, BASF will supply Glasurit’s premium paint lines, refinishing tools, and technical support. From colour-matching systems to spray guns and mixing technology, SVR will benefit from top-tier solutions designed for precision and durability. Glasurit technicians will also deliver ongoing training to ensure optimal application and continuous improvement.
In return, SVR Toyota Gazoo Racing will boost BASF’s visibility through branding, event exposure, and fan engagement. Behind-the-scenes content will highlight the role of paint technology in motorsport, while digital storytelling will showcase innovation and endurance.
