Taking place from 27 to 29 October, the event has become one of the largest gatherings for the automotive aftermarket in Southern Africa, bringing together suppliers, workshop operators, distributors, fleet managers and industry organisations under one roof.
Visitors will be able to explore a broad range of products and services covering parts and components, workshop equipment, repair and maintenance solutions, electronics, accessories, vehicle care products and digital management tools. As vehicle technology continues to evolve, the exhibition will also place a spotlight on electric vehicle and hybrid technologies, giving attendees an opportunity to investigate emerging trends and assess solutions that may benefit their businesses.
“Automechanika Johannesburg brings local and international industry professionals together to explore products, meet suppliers and discuss the issues shaping the automotive aftermarket,” says Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa. “We look forward to welcoming the industry for the 11th time this October.”
Beyond the exhibition floor, a series of conferences and technical sessions will address some of the most pressing issues facing the sector. Engine repair and remanufacturing specialists will have the opportunity to attend the Automotive Remanufacturers' Association Central Region Tech-Talk Conference on 28 October. The programme includes discussions around diesel fuel quality, future fuel injection technologies, cooling systems, repair solutions and global industry developments.
The event will also host a regional logistics conference presented in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport organisations from South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Discussions will cover regional transport corridors, cross-border harmonisation, safety, skills development and workforce requirements for emerging technologies.
Product demonstrations remain one of the event's biggest attractions. The Motor Industry Workshop Association's SpannerTorque Pavilion will showcase the expertise of participating companies involved in workshop operations, parts supply and automotive technologies.
Visitors will also be able to watch a live vehicle assembly demonstration featuring a Backdraft Cobra. The build will provide a close-up look at how major components such as suspension, steering, brakes and wheels are assembled from the chassis upwards.
Another feature attracting attention is the BodyShop News Africa Student Journalist Programme. Supported by Sherwin-Williams, the initiative gives aspiring automotive journalists practical exposure to the industry while developing reporting skills and gaining real-world experience.
The exhibition's Business Matchmaking platform also allows registered visitors to identify relevant suppliers, potential customers and industry partners before arriving. Meetings can be arranged in advance, helping attendees maximise their time at the event.
“With opening day approaching, industry professionals are encouraged to register, review the conference programme and complete their matchmaking profiles,” says Michael.
“Planning a visit around specific products, technical questions and business contacts can help turn three days at Automechanika Johannesburg into a focused opportunity to advance business priorities,” he adds.
