Africa Truck Parts – one of the leading suppliers of Original Equipment (OE) and equivalent (OE Equivalent) parts is back at Automechanika with a large and interactive display.

The company, which is headquartered in Jet Park, Boksburg, in Gauteng, has been supplying high quality service and replacement parts for the truck market since 2002. It has been a fixture at Automechanika since 2009 and this year it has a massive display of parts and components near the main entrance of Hall 7.

“We supply a very wide range of high-quality parts for European truck brands, including Scania and Volvo,” says Paul du Preez, CEO of the company.

As the market has expanded, Du Preez says, the company has also added certain parts and components for American brands, including International and Freightliner, and for certain Japanese truck brands.

“We are keeping a close eye on the fast-growing market for Chinese trucks. These brands, including GWM and Sinotruk, are growing rapidly, and we will be there to support them.”

Du Preez explains that the company has relationships with most of the OE component manufacturers that stretch as far back as the company’s formation over two decades ago, while the latest partnerships are coming up for 10 years.

The company supplies parts and components from Hella, Mahle, Behr, SACHS, SKF, Jost, Valeo, Jonesco and ZF, among many others.

“Many of these suppliers manufacture OE equipment for the truck manufacturers, and we are able to source the parts from them for the service and repair of the same trucks.

“Others, such as the well-known Italian manufacturer SABO, make OE Equivalent parts, which means that they meet the same high standards set by the manufacturer and by us,” says Du Preez.

Africa Truck Parts cover most countries in sub-Saharan Africa through strong partnerships with resellers in these countries. The company ensures that these resellers are well stocked in the necessary parts, while the reseller takes care of customer relationships and services.

“While we are used to relatively good quality roads and long stretches of tar in South Africa, many of the truck operators must travel long distances – 1 000 km or more – on rough, pot-holed dirt roads.

“These roads can take their toll on suspension components and other mechanical underpinnings, which means that we have to make sure that we can supply both service and repair parts to operators across sub-Saharan Africa,” says Du Preez.

Africa Truck Parts will be on hand throughout the Automechanika Johannesburg show. You can find out more about the company and download comprehensive catalogues of their parts and components at africatruckparts.com.
