Rivonia car sound is an aftermarket sound system and dash camera company offering car accessories ranging from trackers and vehicle sensors to satellite navigation. Based in the north of Johannesburg, this company imports car accessories from entry level to high quality products such as pioneer speakers and Blam products to local vehicle owners.
The reason for the company’s decision to take part in this year’s Automechanika event is to get the exposure of marketing and advertising of their company to local vehicle owners by proving that Rivonia car sound is not only about sound installation but that it’s also a company that cares about the driver experience on the road.
With the high crime level skyrocketing in this country, this company is very big on dash cameras, and according to Prahlad Soma, the company’s representative, this product alone has been one of the highest income-generating products of the company, especially in recent years. Vehicle owners nowadays prefer to have these after-market accessories, which give their cars a sense of uniqueness and personal ownership.

He also emphasised that most cheaper cars in the market do not come with good sound quality, and some go as far as not having essential services such as trackers in them. For these reasons, the Rivonia car sound was established to bridge that gap.
For beginners on the road, these accessories provide safety and make it easy for them to navigate the road like regular drivers.
Prahlad said that the company’s targets everyone, and because it’s in the northern suburbs does not mean that it’s a high-end market service provider. “We even offer entry-level car accessories for people who do not have the means of purchasing the expensive products,” he said.
Some of the challenges the company faces is having to offer these services to the recent technology innovated cars because they come with specific high-end technologies, and owners of these vehicles prefer not to fidget around with them. And because a lot of money is spent when purchasing, it does not make sense for them to spend more money on accessories, he added.
The company’s expectation for next year is expansion, getting people to understand that apart from sound systems, it’s a company that cares about the experiences of individuals on the road.
