Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia has confirmed that Automechanika Riyadh, the Kingdom’s leading automotive aftermarket exhibition, will be postponed from its planned May 2026 dates and rescheduled for 2027.
The organiser stated that the decision follows a detailed evaluation of the current regional military conflict, placing the safety and confidence of exhibitors, partners and visitors at the forefront.
Originally set for 4 to 6 May 2026, the show’s delay is intended to preserve its international stature and ensure that the global Automechanika brand continues to deliver the high quality for which it is known. Organisers highlighted that the environment in the region in early 2026 made it challenging to guarantee the large-scale international participation typically associated with the event.
Martyn Cox, Show Director at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, emphasised that the decision had not been taken lightly. He reiterated that Automechanika Riyadh has become an important platform for the Saudi automotive aftermarket but that holding the event during a period of regional instability would compromise its commercial value. Ensuring strong business outcomes for stakeholders was a decisive factor.

Chris Lee, Portfolio Director for Mobility and Logistics at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, noted that the postponement allows the team to focus on returning with a larger and more impactful edition that aligns with Saudi Arabia’s ambitions and the wider Automechanika network’s global standards. The 2027 edition is expected to reflect both market growth and the rising international interest in the Kingdom’s automotive sector.
Automechanika Riyadh forms part of the global Automechanika series, which connects manufacturers, distributors, service providers and buyers across the automotive industry. In Saudi Arabia, the event has played a significant role in supporting the expansion of the aftermarket sector, contributing to broader national objectives under Vision 2030. Despite the delay, Messe Frankfurt Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the show’s development and to the Kingdom’s automotive ecosystem.
New dates for the 2027 edition are expected to be announced in due course. Until then, organisers are focused on ensuring that the event’s return will deliver stronger commercial opportunities and maintain the global relevance of the Automechanika brand.
